Bituminous felts │-strips B4
Bitumen cork felt is made of long-fiber plant fibers such as jute and coir. The impregnation with bitumen creates an elastic, flexible and highly resilient cushioning material.
Bitumen felt is used as footfall sound attenuation under floating screed, asphalt pavements and beamed ceilings on solid floors in structural engineering by low installation height.
Bituminous felts intercept compressive and tensile stresses between the substrate and the overlay. Blistering by occurring pressure (gases, air, and steam) is largely prevented by its porous structure.
